This Monday T.S Warspite released their new 5 track EP Trauma Stage through Northern Unrest.
In the past few weeks I’ve found myself diving into more of the UKHC labels including Northern Unrest and also had a few recommendations from mates and others to listen to these guys. So I sat down and gave their album Stop The Rot a whirl and was immediately intrigued. Least to say I was looking forward to this 5 track EP. Which did not disappoint!
Trauma Stage follows their 2020 demo and their 2022 album Stop The Rot. The entire EP may only be 9 minutes long but each track hits the hard notes! I would say my two most favourite tracks from it are the opening track Power Play and Prison Rules. There’s just something about fast paced guitar power chords and funky basslines that just sit with me and I can groove.

Some say part Bad Religion, others say part Life’s Blood, we’re saying it’s awesome. Trauma Stage is a palate cleanser from the onslaught of metallic hardcore but still knows how to work a dancefloor. Thank you for supporting independent hardcore.

The other aspect of looking at a release is of course the album artwork and this is nothing but a sick design, it completely drew me in. Hand drawn by none other than Cuero Negro it’s the kind of artwork that reminds me of the late 20th Century punk and hardcore releases. Featuring a faceless man in a tracksuit in front of a burning car…just something that says hard as nails!
