It’s been a great year so far for UKHC releases and with some of my favourites it’s always difficult to dwindle this down to a handful

As per usual each month, I aim to highlight bands, whether their music is new or old, in hopes of bringing them the attention they deserve. Just a few of my listening habits over the month!

Flipside – Summer Promo ’26
Release Date: 28th August 2026
Record Label: Self Released

At the end of August I was pleased to see a release come to fruition from a couple of mates of mine up in Teesside who I’ve recently interviewed as well.

Flipside have been holding on to these tracks for the past couple of years due to illness in the band and it’s great to see them release these for all to hear.

I did get a snippet of it before release but may I just say that all three tracks hit that sweet spot within the punkier side of hardcore. F.S.C (Flipside Crew) is such a great entrance and Meat Shield being their main on the promo.

Give these guys a listen and check out their recent interview.

Paresthesia – Surgical Malpractice
Release Date: 1st September 2026
Record Label: Self Released

The eagerly anticipated debut from Paresthesia dropped in early September and my word is it something I think you should hear!

With the artwork made by vocalist Brea under the pseudonym @eyes.of.abomination and mixed by Negative Frame drummer Luke Walker this 5 track is so wonderfully put together.

Each track brings it’s anger and has such a roaring sound to them with some great musicianship.

My favourite track on the listings has to be the title track ‘Surgical Malpractice’.

Definitely give them a listen and head to a show stat!

Bottom Of The Barrel – Demo
Release Date: 9th September 2026
Record Label: Self Released

Bottom Of The Barrel is another band that has recently released their debut. These guys come out of the South Wales scene and what an addition they are to the area.

They have already played on some stacked line ups in the Wales area including under Cro Mags and Bulldoze.

So you know what to do, hit their dancefloor!

I’ve really enjoyed their demo since release especially Nailed to the Cross and Fight To Survive, these are the two that stood out to me the most!

Violent Offense – Still We Conquer
Release Date: 1st March 2026
Record Label: Rucktion Records

Violent Offense a 5 piece based out of south wales was founded in 2022, and released their debut full length Still We Conquer back in March through Rucktion Records.

Firstly this entire album is fantastic and I want to put that in there. You can definitely hear influences from the 90s and 00s from both UKHC and NYHC within these tracks.

I recently managed to catch these guys back in August at Tempers Fray’s release show and they were incredibly fun to get involved with. If I was to give one of my favourite tracks off of this full length it would have to be ‘If I Don’t Hurt You Someone Else Will’.

Get to know! and hopefully catch them around you soon!

Knuckledust – Promises Comfort Fools
Release Date: 4th January 2008
Record Label: Roy Dirt Promotions

Sean Reece (@slafto)

Now I’m going back a while for this final one and it is by far one of my favourite albums that’s why I’ve been running it a lot more recently.

Running it back to the mid 90s Knuckledust have played a huge part in the UKHC scene and if you don’t know them then you’ve been living under a bridge this whole time.

With such a stacked discography as Knuckledust’s there’s a lot to enjoy however, for me most recently this album has been on my most listened. With tracks like Frontline Soldier, Promises Confort Fools and basically every track from start to finish.

It was great to catch their 30th anniversary show earlier this year and even though their shows are far between it is always an honour to see them.

Make sure you check back next month for the next bunch of recommendations!

Until next time, I’ll catch you in the pit!
