This time last week Burn It Down Festival announced their first wave of artists to feature at the festival and what a group of artists they released!

This is one of the best first wave announcements I’ve seen for a UK festival this summer.

This year’s festival has a very big hardcore presence with bands from across the UK as well as overseas. With bands such as Spy & Spaced making the trip over from the States.

Burn It Down Festival started their journey back in 2018 and just look at how this DIY festival has grown over the past decade.

After the success of last year’s festival featuring artists such as Cancer Bats, Guilt Trip, Desolated, Last Wishes & Overpower; to name a few. They have hit us with a group of bands that you know will make the festival, once again a great weekend.

The below bands are just some of my personal highlights from the announcement that I can’t wait to see tear up Torquay.

Personal Mentions:

South West Hardcore band Bar Fight from Gloucestershire have returned back to the scene after a 6 year hiatus. I caught them last November playing Joshfest in Reading and what a set they pulled out.

From my interview with the guys back last year vocalist Steve said “Our USP has always been, and will always continue to be mates just having fun” and it is so good to see these lads doing just that.

Hertfordshire/North London band Negative Frame feature at this years Burn It Down and you’re definitely in for a treat.

These guys merge metal with heavy riffs, breakdowns and thrash to create their monster sound. With such a high energy stage presence I’m sure you’ll love.

They’ve recently come back from their tour towards the end of 2025 with Detriment and played London New Cross Inn’s Relaty Unfolds fest. They have also been working on new material towards the end of 2025, so it seems that we might be lucky to get this before Burn It Down.

Overpower, who also featured on last years lineup return! (The crossover kings in my opinion).

I recently caught the boys at the Rhapsody Records all dayer event in Middlebrough over the past weekend and it was great to finally chill with them properly. So if you love crossover, you’ll definitely love Overpower!

When I spoke to Overpower a few months back they explained in my interview that they have been working on some new material. So who knows? maybe you’ll get some new Overpower at Burn It Down!

Oversize are an alternative rock band from the South West. They released their most recent album Vital Signs back in February 2025 through Sharptone Records. Speaking to NME on the record Oversize explained that the album dealt with the experiences of grieving with tracks such as ‘Fall apart’ & ‘Are You With Me’. They gave the following quote to NME:

“There’s something to be said about the power of healing yourself through music for sure” – Sam McCauley.

With a blend of shoegaze, emo and metal that is so good to chill out to. I fell in love with it straight away when I listened to it. So I’m looking forward to catching them here.

One I’m definitely looking forward to catching again is Spaced who are travelling from Buffalo, NY Stateside for this festival. I caught Spaced at last years 2000 Trees and I was so happy I was finally able to catch them.

I first got into Spaced when their album Spaced Jams released back in 2022. So finally being able to see that high energy performance Lexi Reyngoudt brings to the stage was fantastic.

Spaced released their lastest EP No Escape back in October through Pure Noise Records and it hits the mark! They just makes you want to have fun and jump around in the pit.

Hailing from the BN1 in Brighton Tempers Fray had a solid 2025, supporting TRC at The Dome for their 20th anniversary, being a part of the BN1 x LBU weekender at Daltons in Brighton and hitting up Europe in the autumn.

Tempers Fray already have a stacked 2026 on the horizon. With appearances at Foefest announced, supporting Knuckledust’s 30th anniversary, Last Breath Fest and most recently joing NYHC legends Madball on tour in the UK.

These guys are unsung heroes in the UK Hardcore scene and are always a great shout to go and see live and support. After chatting to them back in September there might be some new music on the horizon so be sure to catch these guys early!

Following their extremely successful 20th Anniversary show at The Dome, Tufnell Park last year and further festival appearances in the UK and Europe since, including Ghostfest, Joshfest & Sin City Mosh Fest out in Hamburg, Germany. It seems that TRC are well and truly back to cause havoc!

These guys have been a staple in the London Hardcore scene for decades and a staple in my music taste since my teen years so it’s great to see these guys properly active again.

With the release of their latest single ‘Pressure‘ will we be getting a new TRC record soon?
