As the new year turned, I thought it would be a nice idea to set up a monthly post of bands and albums that I’ve listened to each month.
Each month, I aim to highlight bands, whether their music is new or old, in hopes of bringing them the attention they deserve.
You never know, you might even discover something for yourself.
So without further adew:

Regress – Regress (Self Titled EP)
Release Date: 10th January 2026
Record Label: Rucktion Records
Regress released their debut self titled EP through Rucktion Records early on this year and it hit the mark straight away with me. Tracks like ‘Soaked in Betrayal’ & ‘Too Young, Too Soon‘ hit me with that great blend of amped up riffs, breakdown palm mutes and double pedal kicks. Proper mosh music.

Crowquill – Crowquill (Self Titled EP)
Release Date: 25th May 2025
Record Label: The Coming Strife
Crowquill released their self titled EP backend of Spring 2025. It bring that blend of heavy beatdown and guitar licks that come with an emotional tie. With the lyrics being shouted at you throughout ‘The Family Faucet‘ then turning into a sickly sung ballad sits well with me. Definitely a favourite track of mine.

Lights Out – Fall On Your Sword
Release Date: 10th January 2026
Record Label: Unit-E Records
Lights Out gave us this fanastic piece of work early on this year. With a mix of what I would say is classic UK Hardcore. Drum beats and riffs to proper two step to and getting some gang vocals in there to. Personal favourites from this EP is the title track ‘ Fall On Your Sword‘ which features Glasgow Hardcore Band Grandslam & ‘Broken‘ featuring Shot Down In May.

Disarmed – Disarmed (Self Titled EP)
Release Date: 27th January 2026
Record Label: Rhapsody Records
When this EP was released and recommended to me I didn’t know what hit me but I loved the mix of riffs, the speed of the tracks and the lyrics it provided. 4 tracks long and they all hit hard. One line I absolutely loved was from the title track ‘Disarmed‘ which shouted ‘Take Your Silver Spoon, Stick It Up Your Arse’ and then to be followed by such a beatdown riff, I fuckin’ loved that.

King Street – Parting Shots
Release Date: 26th January 2026
Record Label: Rucktion Records
King Street released their latest EP Parting Shots just over a week ago. What a piece of art it is and my god each track hits hard as nails. If I could sum up London Hardcore and its heavy as fuck sound, it would be this. The riffs and lyrics in tracks such as ‘Life Betrays Us‘ and ‘Salvation‘ featuring Alex Lee from Agency just hit me.

Until next time, I’ll catch you in the pit!
