Each month, I aim to highlight bands, whether their music is new or old, in hopes of bringing them the attention they deserve.
You never know, you might even discover something for yourself!

No Relief – Destroy Your World
Release Date: 16th February 2024
Record Label: Rest Assured
No Relief, one of the BN1’s hardest released Destroy Your World a few years back now. I recently revisited the EP since I bought a hard vinyl copy of it at their Black Heart show back in February supporting Sorcerer before they headed up some further UK dates and went across to Europe with them.
Each and every single track on this EP hits that hardcore style that I just love. From the opening of Throne of Lies, the feature from Grove Street on the title track Destroy Your World, Day By Day which is just something you want to mosh to and ending with Living Hell.
With new music supposedly on the horizon I can’t wait to hear some new stuff from these lads! You can catch No Relief supporting Speed, Whispers and Bodyweb on the first day of tour in the BN1 on April 15th at Chalk! If you know these lads you know you won’t be dissapointed.

Not Without Punishment – Blood Runs Cold
Release Date: 2nd April 2025
Record Label: Godzilla Records
I’ve known about these guys for a while but once I deep dived into their back catalogue I was such a fan. This 4 track EP by Not Without Punishment is now firmly one of my favourite pieces of UKHC and gets me moving like a silly sausage.
Sometimes we think too hard about what bands want to sound like and what style of music they are, all you need to know if this is hard and it’ll definitely tick off what you want. Some proper mosh music for you to dance to.
If you don’t know get to know SOHC!
Coming off of a banging weekend too with a show supporting Negative Frame and Headbussa at New Cross and then featuring as part of Betrayed By Life Records Last Breath Fest on Sunday.

Without Love – Diminishing Returns
Release Date: 13th February 2026
Record Label: Indecision Records
Without Love released their latest works back in February with this wonderful melodic hardcore album.
Diminishing Returns is definitely an album that you can listen to from start to finish and is something I have loved listening to during my working office hours. It gives me that classic 80’s style from NYC.
When you hear that guitar riff kick in on it’s own just before everything else you know it’s a bop and the two stepping is going to happen. Those bass lines as well just do the rhythm some greatness. I need to see these guys live at somepoint soon!
If you haven’t heard it yet get it spinning! That reminds me I need to get hold of a vinyl copy…

Negative Frame – Mercy Killing
Release Date: 11th August 2023
Record Label: The Coming Strife
With a new album on the horizon this summer for the lads in Negative Frame I looked back at their previous EP Mercy Killing.
It’s great to hear this type of metal merge within the hardcore scene and for these guys to be such a local band for me. When I was chatting to Olly for our recent interview with Frame I had to rewind back to it.
This is something heavy that hits all the notes for everyone. I was lucky enough that one of my mates got hold of a vinyl copy for me over the weekend and trust, it’s already been spun a few times!
To see these guys going from strength to strength in recent years I can’t wait to hear the new album Break The Ice, this summer. So stick it in your calenders!

Feel The Pain – World In Two
Release Date: 15th August 2025
Record Label: Last Ride Records
I came across Feel The Pain randomly through my shuffle option and as soon as their track Heart To Heart came on I thought oh shit that’s sick! I’ve got to find more from them.
Feel The Pain hail from Newcastle, Australia and this 6 track EP World In Two definitely hits. Releasing on Australia’s hardcore label Last Ride Records last summer it definitely would get you moshing and bouncing along to it.
Produced by Elliott Gallart (SPEED, Primitive Blast, Skorn), these six songs dance when they want to and hit hard when they need to.
I’d love to see these guys hit up the UK soon!

BONUS

Last Witness – An Unfinished Life
Release Date: 23rd October 2009
Record Label: Self Released
I had to pull a bonus classic album out for you!
As I’m getting to that ripe old age of course I like many of us tend to keep a lot of our teenage music on rotation and Last Witness were and still are one of my favourite artists.
Ever since I heard An Unfinished Life back in my teenage years, I started going to their shows and just to listen back to the album fully recently brought back great memories.
If you’ve never listened to this classic UKHC album or any Last Witness stuff past The Void definitely give this a shout. I was lucky enough to see them support Brutality Will Prevail on their final London show at The Underworld in recent years.
Although unfortunately not active anymore there are new projects from members.
That old bobble hat with ‘Witness’ written on it lived in my girlfriends wardrobe…well now my wifes wardrobe!

Until next time, I’ll catch you in the pit!
