Following their recent inclusion into this years Rebellion Fest in Blackpool, Harley Flanagan & one of NYC’s hardcore pioneers Cro-Mags are introducing two additional shows to hit UK shores this summer.

Cro-Mags are set to join the line up for this years Rebellion Fest in August to celebrate 30 years of the festival. On top of this they have added extra dates at Newport’s Corn Exchange and following the cancellation of their Camden Underworld show (which I had tickets for) a few weeks back, it was announced recently that they will be joining the line up for United & Strong Fest.

Cro-Mags are one of the pioneers of the NYC hardcore scene from the 1980s with their first studio album released back in 1986 in ‘The Age of Quarrel’.

They went on to make six studio albums so far with the most recent album ‘In The Beginning’ being released as recent as 2020. Cro-Mags are a band that I have not had the chance to see previously in all my years however I am extremely excited to eventually see them this summer.

Recently I watched Harley Flanagans documentary ‘Wired For Chaos’ which gives an insight into the world he was brought up in and a full recollection into his life and that of the Cro-Mags.

All leading up to recent years back playing shows and his love for brazilian jii jitsu with Renzo Gracie. I found a great article over at War Tribe Gear who interviewed Harley back in 2017 about his bjj journey so feel free to give that a read, link below.

One of the quotes on the Wired For Chaos site from The Atlanta Mail states:

‘One of the film’s strongest choices is the contrast between the past’s chaos and the present’s relative peace…These visual parallels do the heavy lifting, making it clear that rage hasn’t vanished; it’s been redirected.’

You can catch Cro-Mags this August in London, Newport and Rebellion Fest in Blackpool. We await the full line up of United & Strong Fest being announced in early May however Cro-Mags will be joined by The Oppressed, Hoods, Brick by Brick & Give Me Blood at The Corn Exchange in Newport.

Keep an eye on socials for further information for United & Strong Fest and hopefully I’ll see you there. See the link below to their website where tickets will be available upon release.
